Illinois Public Media's Kimberlie Kranich describes the excitement of teaching students to create newscasts for Stratton Leadership & Microsociety Magnet School in Champaign. The student's first newscast premiered in December, 2012. Students spent two months learning their jobs and the equipment. The newscasts are part of the "media venture" project of the school microsociety, named Strattonville.
